Shortly before the opening of the Venice biennal we are dedicating a whole issue to our love for Italy. There’s RUDOLF STINGEL, who became one of the most expensive artists in the world and who has – despite normally not giving any interviews – welcomed us in his hometown Meran.
There’s LEONARDO DA VINCI, about whom you’ll read many stories on the occasion of his 500th anniversary of his death, but definitely not a commemoration of his most shattering defeats. There’s LUCIO FONTANA, whose most catholic (and most unknown) side we’ll be showing by presenting his breathtakingly beautiful ceramic crosses. There’s the big eccentric ENRICO BAJ, whose villa we visited at Lake Maggiore, or there’s ASTRID WELTER, the German project director at Milan’s headquarter of the Fondazione Prada, who we’ll be introducing to you.
